And these little pants prove it.

Penny of Liberty

Standing for truth and light. Also, we did not pose her.

Airplane Ride

Penny has taken to playing with us a bit more.

Remember airplane rides?
She kind of likes it.

She kind of hates it.

She really hates it.

Was this cruel?

Unckie Trace

Trace is my brother and he likes Penny.

Look how he becomes more and more comfortable as the pictures progress.
A little unsure.

Beautiful.

Getting the hang of this.

Very relaxed.

Ecstasy.
But that's from spit-up, not Penny.

Penny's Future

This is the home Emily and I have decided Penny will grow up in. It will be on 5-10 acres in either Benjamin or Cedar Valley.

Photobucket

We won't have cable tv, but a huge forest in the backyard for her to have adventures. Also, here are some of the traditions I want to start in our new home:

Christmas: Plant a huge Christmas tree grove consisting of Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway spruce, and Douglas-fir trees. Every year we, our extended family, and close friends can chose and cut down our own Christmas trees. Only stipulation is they have to plant a new tree to replace the one they cut (we will provide starter trees).

Easter: Collect fresh eggs from our duck/chicken house. Boil and dye them. Following we will have a massive Easter-egg hunt around the home and garden. And, of course, candy and coin filled plastic eggs will be the truly desired ones.

Photobucket

Fourth-of-July: Have a mass family and cousin campout in the backyard forest. Highlights will include paddle-boating in the natural-pond we'll build and fishing out the tilapia, playing in the network of ewok-like tree houses above the forest floor, and singing and eating around the huge campfire.

Halloween: Once again, our close friends and family can come and select their favorite pumpkins in our gigantic pumpkin patch. Together we can carve, paint, and vote on our favorites. Winners will get something other than candy (trick-or-treating makes candy worthless). And yes, I'm going to plant some of the 200 pound ones (Emily wouldn't let me do it this year - "Where would you put it???" she asks . . . "good point").

K Em, now make us some damn money.

Too Big

I'm a Braggart for a Reason

I once told Seth that Penny would be so beautiful because of my genes. What I meant was it will be my granny's genes that do the trick.
See what I mean?

This is my Granny Ann and she's stunning.

Pretty Penny

I have a beautiful 9 lb. 3 oz. 6-week-old baby.
I love her.

By George, I Think I've Got It

Turns out the answer to Penny's wakeful screaming lay boxed up in her closet for the past 5 weeks.

Behold the Bouncer:

All she needed was a little bum vibration and a bounce every now and then. Pure wakeful bliss.

NOT!

P.S. Thanks, Erin, for reminding me of the power of "NOT" jokes. Very effective.

The Lash-Off

As a result of this, The Lash-Off ensued. This consisted of Penny's coolest fake uncle Ty and Seth getting together and battling it out for the title of best lashes.

With only a little definition from mascara, Seth won Longest Lashes.

Hands-down, Ty won Thickest, Darkest Lashes.

Now if only Ty and Seth could reproduce their offspring's lashes would be unstoppable.

Daddy's Girls

Penny and I got all prettied up today--me with a little makeup and her with a headband. Then we surprised Daddy (Seth) with a lunch date.

(Penny the ventriloquist dummy)

What a lucky guy Seth is.

Bonus: Penny looks alive in these pics!

Dead Baby

Will it ever look like she's living?
